Deepak Anand was first elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga-Malton in 2018, through grassroots, community-led campaign. The second-term serving Member comes from humble beginnings as an immigrant to Canada from India in the year 2000. He is an engineer by education, a businessman by profession, a community leader by passion, a long-time Mississauga resident, and above all, a proud father of two.
Before politics, PA Anand has proved himself to be a community leader, taking on many roles including Director for the Canadian Federation of Truckers, and Director for the Indus Community Services, an immigrant settling service.
In addition, since 2021, PA Anand has served as the Parliamentary Assistant to Minister McNaughton for the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. PA Anand is a strong advocate in supporting the Ministry’s mandate, forwarding objectives with particular interest in the immigration and skills development files. His key policy priorities include youth employment and empowerment, reducing red tape, boosting foreign direct investment, and bridging the gap between the people and their elected officials.
